Nursing care process in an oncology patient
Proceso de cuidado de enfermería en un paciente oncológico

The Nursing Care Process (PCE) is a tool that allows the nurse to provide nursing care, helps to understand the human response, in order to intervene in a timely manner and have a favorable response from the patient. The objective of the work was to describe the clinical state of an older adult patient with terminal illness, and to know the personal, family and social characteristics. This is the case of a senile patient with a diagnosis of advanced stage stomach cancer, post-surgery for a total gastrectomy, with ascites and pleural effusion in the left lung. A comprehensive approach was provided to the patient in his last days and there was family support at all times. It is considered that it is the patient's right to know his state of health and his prognosis, as long as the patient is conscious.
