Objective: Design a methodology to implement an improvement strategy in the national management of educational software production in Medical Education in Cuba. Materials and methods: applicative and analytical study implemented in medical education in Cuba from 2010-2016. Universe of study: 180 developers of educational software for medical education subdivided into three strata. First layer with a sample of 63 developers; second stratum, 17 developers in addition to process leaders and the third stratum, six developers in addition to participants in the two periods of national management. Theoretical methods were applied that made it possible to base and solve the investigated problem and empirical methods to obtain the information. Questionnaires were applied, interviews were conducted and participatory techniques such as brainstorming and prioritization of problems were developed (DAFO matrix). Results: It was designed on the basis of the components of the strategy most related to its application: main protagonists, dimensions and stages. The dimensions were the main directions in which the improvement was projected: infrastructure management, software life cycle and knowledge. It was concluded that the national management has shortcomings in the management functions. Conclusions: The methodology to implement the proposed strategy achieves continuous transformations in the main directions of improvement of the national management of educational software production (dimensions) in medical education in Cuba.Downloads
