Resumo

Introdução: A incontinência urinária feminina é uma condição prevalente que afeta significativamente a qualidade de vida. A estimulação eletromagnética focalizada de alta intensidade (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic – HIFEM) surgiu como uma alternativa terapêutica não invasiva voltada ao fortalecimento da musculatura do assoalho pélvico. Objetivo: Avaliar a eficácia e a segurança da tecnologia eletromagnética focalizada de alta intensidade em comparação com o manejo convencional em mulheres adultas com incontinência urinária. Métodos: Foi realizada uma revisão da literatura seguindo as diretrizes PRISMA. A busca foi conduzida nas bases de dados Medline, Scopus e Web of Science. Foram identificados 389 registros; após a remoção das duplicatas e a aplicação dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, 12 estudos foram selecionados. Foram analisadas as características da população, os parâmetros da intervenção e os desfechos clínicos, incluindo qualidade de vida, número de absorventes utilizados e eventos adversos. Resultados: Os estudos incluídos demonstraram redução significativa no número de episódios de perda urinária e no uso diário de absorventes, além de melhorias clinicamente relevantes nos questionários de qualidade de vida. Os benefícios foram consistentes em mulheres com incontinência urinária de esforço e mista. Em comparação com terapias convencionais, como o treinamento da musculatura do assoalho pélvico, a HIFEM apresentou resultados comparáveis ou superiores em alguns estudos, com boa tolerabilidade. Os eventos adversos relatados foram raros, leves e transitórios. Conclusões: A tecnologia HIFEM representa uma alternativa conservadora, não invasiva, eficaz e segura para o tratamento da incontinência urinária feminina. Em comparação com o manejo convencional e outras tecnologias terapêuticas, demonstrou benefícios na redução dos episódios de perda urinária, na diminuição do uso de absorventes e na melhora da qualidade de vida. No entanto, são necessários estudos comparativos que permitam estabelecer com maior precisão sua superioridade ou equivalência em relação a outras opções terapêuticas.
