Smartphone dependence on sleep quality and academic performance: a narrative review
Abstract
This literature review highlights the increasing addiction to smartphones among young people, especially university students, and its correlation with mental and physical health issues, including impaired sleep and academic performance. Research suggests that personality traits and sleep quality are predictors of this dependency. The use of health apps and eHealth strategies is recommended to mitigate these effects, emphasizing the importance of promoting healthy habits and responsible use of mobile devices to improve health and academic success. Key words: Internet Addiction Disorder, Sleep Quality, Academic Performance, Mental Health, Sedentary Behavior.Downloads
