The hidden face of constipation: increased risk of mortality in heart failure and chronic kidney disease
La cara oculta del estreñimiento: mayor riesgo de mortalidad en insuficiencia cardíaca y enfermedad renal crónica

Constipation, far from being an isolated symptom, emerges as an independent prognostic factor for mortality, particularly in patients with heart failure and chronic kidney disease. Early identification and comprehensive management may contribute to improved survival in these populations. In this context, the scientific and clinical community should recognize this “hidden face of constipation” and promote research to determine whether its treatment can translate into tangible benefits in terms of mortality reduction.Downloads
