¿Es la cirugía bariátrica el nuevo camino fácil para bajar de peso?

Abstract

Bariatric surgery has proven effective for weight loss and the reduction of comorbidities; however, it is not without risks. Therefore, exposing patients to potential complications without an appropriate surgical indication is not advisable. In overweight patients who may benefit from conservative measures, medical management based on dietary modifications, physical exercise, and pharmacological therapy should be prioritized before considering surgical intervention.
